The RT-B-A23 is a 23-seater electric bus engineered for in-campus mass transit — delivering zero-emission group transport with a 96V/20kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, regenerative braking, and forward-facing leather seating.

The Roots EV RT-B-A23 is the largest and most advanced electric bus in the Roots EV lineup, seating 23 passengers in a forward-facing configuration with heavy-duty leather seats and 2-point seat belts. It is purpose-built for high-volume in-campus transit at universities, hospitals, corporate campuses, industrial parks, and large institutional facilities. At the heart of the RT-B-A23 is a 96V/20kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor paired with a precision Curtis controller, delivering smooth, responsive acceleration and efficient energy utilization. The regenerative braking system captures kinetic energy during deceleration, returning it to the battery and maximizing operational range across a full working day. The vehicle rides on a commercial-grade MacPherson front suspension and multi-leaf rear springs — a combination optimized for the varied surfaces found on Indian campus environments. Front disc brakes and rear drum brakes are augmented by a double vacuum brake booster, achieving a braking distance of under 6 metres at 20 km/h even when fully loaded. Inside, passengers enjoy a refined experience: an 18-inch digital instrument display, Bluetooth audio system with four bass speakers, wireless charging console, and a rear-view camera with sensors. The wide-angle interior mirror and LED headlights and taillights complete the safety package. The high-strength steel chassis with eCoating and powder coating ensures long-term structural integrity, while the automotive-grade stamped steel cab and fiberglass yacht-style roof deliver a premium appearance. The aluminum chequered plate floor is easy to clean and highly durable for daily multi-trip operations. With a 7.5-metre turning radius, the RT-B-A23 remains maneuverable on campus pathways and internal roads despite its 23-passenger capacity. Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering reduces driver fatigue, making it suitable for repeated daily shuttle routes.
